Information

With the gradual maturity of DTF (Direct To Film) printing technology and its widespread use in the digital printing industry, part of HTV (Heat Transfer Vinyl) has gradually been replaced. As we all know, DTF and HTV are both heat transfer materials, which can be applied to textiles such as clothing, shoes, hats, luggage, etc. So how are they different?

A.Different production processes
The use process of HTV is to first use a cutting plotter to carve patterns on vinyl. The excess part needs to be removed, then the pattern is ironed on the clothes, and finally the PET release film is torn off.
DTF printing is to print the designed picture on the DTF film first, then cover the design with hot melt powder, and bake it to melt. Finally, the pattern is transferred to products of various colors and materials through thermal transfer.

B. Different product characteristics
HTV is usually monochromatic. Due to the difference in crafts and materials, different textures such as reflective, luminous, metal, and flock are distinguished. At the same time, it will not be deformed after high temperature hot stamping, environmentally friendly and non-toxic, suitable for hot stamping individual patterns on a variety of textiles.
DTF printing can use DTF ink (CMYK+W) printing to show various colors, and DTF fluorescent ink can also be used to print patterns with fluorescent effects. Compared with HTV, DTF can print finer lines and will not be deformed after high temperature heat transfer. The effect after transfer is smooth, with good elasticity, stretch resistance and good washing effect.

In summary, HTV and DTF are different in terms of production process, color, effect, and texture. After understanding these points, producers can choose suitable heat transfer products based on factors such as fashion design and production needs of their products.
